Management of the Federal Polytechnic Offa has clarified air on the viral video of hoodlums with gun allegedly to be students of the polytechnic signing out. The release signed by the Acting head of Public Relations, Esther Folake Oyinloye has declared that the culprits are not students of the Federal Polytechnic Offa.
The release reads in full
“The attention of the Management has been drawn to the video of some miscreants going around on social media, allegedly to be students of the Federal Polytechnic Offa.
“The 8-second footage featured one of the miscreants holding a gun while others were on rampage.
“The Management wishes to state clearly that the scene of the video did not occur in any of our campuses and the culprits in the video cannot be confirmed to be students of the Federal Polytechnic Offa as alleged. A thorough investigation is ongoing by the Management to reveal the identity of the miscreants in the footage who attempt to soil the image of the institution.
“It is on record that the Polytechnic has outrightly banned students’ sign-out and any other forms of jubilation on both campuses. With emphasis, the sign-out remains banned, and illegal as it contradicts the rules and regulations of the Polytechnic.
“Management re-states its total abhorrence against social vices and any act of misconduct capable of causing social unrest. While investigation is on-going by security agents on the incident, Staff, Students and the Community are assured of their safety.”
