The federal government is set to relaunch the trader Monie scheme in November this year.
The scheme was earlier inaugurated by the Previous administration under Muhammadu Buhari.
The Minister of Humanitarian affairs and Povery alleviation Beta Edu, stated this while appearing on channels TV.
She explained that the FG is set to support the beneficiary of the scheme with 50,000 to boost their business. She said the scheme would target big market Per senatorial district, in total 109 markets. She also noted that the loan amount has been increased from N10,000 to N50,000.
The minister said the Federal government is not playing politics with the scheme, adding that the government is committed to improving the conditions and welfare of Nigerians in this trying times.
“Well, we don’t have elections right now. As we are starting the Renewed Hope GEEP programme, we don’t have elections; we have Nigerians. Politics is over. We are facing governance. That’s what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is all about,” she said.
The minister also announced that the conditional cash transfer policy by the Federal Government is scheduled to resume this month.
“With the approval from the President, which we hope to get this week, on the 17th of October, we will be officially launching the conditional cash transfer to 15 million households in Nigeria,” she stated.
