The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has passionately called on Nigerians to stand firmly behind the policies and programs championed by the Bola Tinubu-led administration, ensuring a promising trajectory for the nation in 2024.
In a New Year’s Day address in Abuja, the Director-General of NOA, Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu, highlighted several key initiatives undertaken by the current administration to restore Nigeria’s global standing.
Economic Liberation: Issa-Onilu emphasized that the bold move to remove the subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) has effectively liberated Nigeria’s economy from the clutches of a dubious subsidy regime. This, he noted, has resulted in substantial savings earmarked for critical sector reinvestment.
Security Overhaul: The appointment of new security chiefs, coupled with an overhaul of the national security architecture, has significantly escalated efforts against non-state actors plaguing the nation. Issa-Onilu applauded the administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens.
Blue Economy Thrust: Highlighting a visionary step, the creation of the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, the NOA chief underscored its potential to harness Nigeria’s vast blue economy. This strategic move positions the nation to capitalize on untapped marine resources for sustainable development.
Agro-Revolution: Issa-Onilu expressed optimism about the administration’s focus on agriculture, citing new initiatives in dry season farming and robust support to farmers. He predicts that these efforts will pave the way for the much-needed diversification of Nigeria’s economy.
