The independent national electoral commission (INEC) as announced that nine state will know their governor elect today as collation resumes in Rivers kaduna, ebonyi, and plateau today.
The Nine states are : Rivers, ebonyi, abia, borno, adamawa, niger, kaduna, plateau and Delta.
Returning officers for the affected states suspended collation of results yesterday and was rescheduled pending the arrival and collation of the remaining result from the affected states.
For Rivers, the PDP governorship candidate was already leading in 17 local government by INEC at the collation center in portharcourt.
The collation was later suspended pending the arrival of results from six local government areas.
In kaduna, election results are coming in into the state collation center, the results shows that APC candidate Senator Uba Sani is ahead of his closest rival the candidate of the PDP issa ashiru kudan.
INEC has collated results from Kaura, Giwa, Sanga, Kajuru, Makarfi, Ikara, Jaba, Jema’a, Zangon Kataf, Kauru, Soba, Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Chikun, Igabi, Kagarko, Sabon Gari, Kubau and Zaria local government areas.
The results shows that ashiru of the PDP won in 10 out of the 19 local government areas collated by INEC in kaduna which are :Sanga, Kajuru, Makarfi, Jaba, Jema’a, Zangon Kataf, Soba, Chikun and Kagarko and kaura.
The APC candidate, who won nine local government areas of Giwa, Ikara, Kauru, Sabon Gari, Kubau, Zaria, Kaduna North, Kaduna South and Igabi, got more votes than the PDP standard bearer. The remaining results being awaited are those from Birnin-Gwari, Kachia and Kudan local government areas.
So far sanni uba scored a total of 617,627 leading his closest rival of the PDP ashiru 602,120.
In ebonyi INEC could not complete the collation of results due to the inability of its officers to compute their results from their local goverments.
So far APC has won in nine local governments out of the 13 local government declared by INEC so far while the PDP candidate won in Onicha local government area.
The state resident electoral commissioner mrs Pauline Onyeka announced that the collation of results will resumed today starting from 10 am this morning.
In Abia, The labour party candidates Dr. Alex Otti according to the results collated by INEC so far is leading in 10 local government areas at the headquarters of the INEC in Umuahia, the state capital.
In plateau state the PDP candidate has won in 7 local government areas out of the 13 councils released so far by INEC while the APC’ Prof. Nentawe Yiltwada won in six councils.
Plateau state has 17 local government, Results from Qua’Pan, Jos North, Jos South and Bokkos LGAs were still being awaited.
In Delta State, the ruling PDP had won 15 out of the 18 local government areas in the governorship election collated so far.
The PDP polled 245,250 votes in 15 local government areas while its closest challenger APC polled 151,198 votes, winning in three local government areas.
In Niger State, the APC candidate Umar Bago was leading from the results of 22 out of 25 local government areas collated.
The APC was leading in 18 local government areas while the PDP had six local government areas as of 6.31pm.
The APC won in Tafa, Gurara, Paikoro, Bosso, Suleja, Katcha, Bida, Chachanga, Lapai, Rafi, Magama, Agaie, Wushishi, Agwara, Borgu, Mariga and Kontagora. The PDP won in Munya, Edati, Gbako, Mokwa and Lavun local government areas.
The results of Rijau, Mashegu and Shiroro were being expected.
In Benue before INEC adjourned collation, APC’s Rev . Father Hycinth Alia was leading by a margin of 156,739 votes
The electoral empire had already declared results from 17 local government areas with only six remaining.
The summary of result so far collated showed that that Alia polled 327,962 votes against Titus Uba of the PDP, who garnered 171,223 votes, leaving LP with 13,123 votes.
